This colorful plant combination will cheer you up for weeks from early to mid-summer. Easy to replicate, this Mediterranean-style planting is ideal for lazy gardeners who wish to put very little effort into a beautiful and low-maintenance garden.

The plant palette includes superb ingredients: the strongly fragrant and repeat flowering English Lavender ‘Thumbelina Leigh’ (Lavandula angustifolia), the luminous and spicy scented Helichrysum italicum (Curry Plant), the architectural and free-flowering Kniphofia ‘Tawny King’ and the statuesque Stipa gigantea (Golden Oats) whose silky flowerheads move gracefully in the slightest breeze.

Their colorful blooms are nicely complemented by those of Olearia x scilloniensis (Daisy Bush), a compact evergreen that gets so smothered with abundant clusters of white, daisy-like flowers in late spring that the leaves almost disappear.

Drought tolerant or deer resistant, most plants provide plenty of nectar and pollen for visiting insects, and make excellent cut flowers too!
