Meconopsis

Spectacular in the shade garden, Meconopsis (Himalayan Poppy) can be annuals, biennials, evergreen or herbaceous perennials. Often short-lived, their alluring and beautiful silky flowers attract ardent collectors and gardeners. Among them, the gorgeous blue poppy creates a striking show in the garden and has long stolen the heart of gardeners. The foliage of many species is also attractive, forming bold rosettes covered with silver or gold hairs. Challenging to grow outside their native climates, they require moist, but not wet, conditions and temperate temperatures to thrive.
