Begonia ‘Gryphon’ is an upright, mounding, evergreen perennial noted for its eye-catching foliage and durability. It produces large, thick, glossy green, palmate leaves, adorned with a silver overlay. Both their undersides and slender stems are deep orange-red, adding pleasing contrast. Fast-growing, it makes a valuable contribution to shady landscapes or containers.

  • Grows up to 12-18 in. tall and wide (30-45 cm).
  • Prefers part to full shade and fertile, moist, and well-drained soils. Provide good air circulation. Applying winter mulch will increase survivability in borderline areas.
  • Can be grown in sun with sufficient and consistent moisture. This is an easy and carefree plant. Do not allow it to get too dry, regular fertilization is best.
  • Toxic to dogs, toxic to cats, toxic to horses.
