Noted for its remarkable flower power, Campanula carpatica ‘Deep Blue Clips’ (Carpathian Bellflower) is a low-growing perennial forming a tidy mound of toothed and rounded bright green leaves. In early summer, blue, upturned, bell-shaped flowers are borne on short stalks just above the foliage. They are produced in such quantities that they nearly cover the entire plant. This plant will continue blooming for weeks, until early fall, if spent blossoms are regularly deadheaded. This charming Carpathian Bellflower is perfect for rock gardens, at the front of perennial borders, or massed as a groundcover.

  • Grows up to 6-8 in. tall (15-20 cm) and 8-12 in. across (20-30 cm). Although this plant self-sows in favorable conditions, it is not invasive and remains well-behaved in the garden.
  • Thrives in full sun or part shade, in average, medium, well-drained soils. Prefers part shade in warmer climates.
  • Ideal for garden edging, groundcover, underplanting shrubs or roses, cottage gardens, city gardens, rock gardens, or containers.
  • Easy to grow, virtually disease and pest free, this low-care perennial is also rabbit resistant.
  • Propagate by seed or basal cuttings
  • Plants should be divided every 2 to 4 years, in spring or fall.
