Vigorous and showy, Corydalis ‘Canary Feathers’ (Fumewort) is a low-growing, compact perennial forming an attractive mat of lacy, ovate, blue-green leaves. In late spring, bright racemes of tubular yellow flowers are produced on short, upright stems above the foliage, creating a remarkable contrast. Easy to grow, this Fumewort goes summer dormant in hot areas but can bloom right through to late fall in cool summer areas. Perfect for the shade garden or containers.

  • Grows in clumps, 9-12 in. tall (22-30 cm) and 10-12 in. wide (25-30 cm). Flowers are sterile, so self-seeding is not an issue
  • Best in part shade, in moderately fertile, evenly moist, well-drained soils. Tolerates full shade. Dislikes summer drought.
  • Virtually disease free. Watch for snails and slugs.
  • A great perennial plant for beds and borders, cottage gardens, rock gardens, or woodlands. Great for containers too!
  • Propagate by division in autumn
