Grevillea 'Long John', 'Long John' Grevillea, Mediterranean shrubs, Evergreen Shrubs, Red flowers, Orange flowers, drought tolerant flowers

One of the most popular grevilleas, Grevillea ‘Long John’ is a beautiful shrub grown for its dazzling flowers and evergreen foliage of small, pointed leaves. Large clusters of coral flowers are produced freely and are borne at the end of the upright branches over much of the year. They supply birds and hummingbirds with a copious supply of nectar. The flowers make excellent cut flowers.

  • Grows upright with a bushy, rounded habit to 8-10 ft. tall and wide (240-360 cm).
  • Easily grown in acidic, well-drained soils in full sun. Drought tolerant once established. Use little to no Phosphorus fertilizer.
  • Deer resistant
  • Great for Mediterranean gardens and xeriscaping.
  • Virtually disease free and pest free.
  • Prune back after flowering to encourage a bushy, compact habit.
  • Propagate by semi-hardwood cuttings.
  • Native to Australia
