Highly floriferous and robust, Leucanthemum vulgare ‘Filigran’ (Ox-Eye Daisy) is a wonderful free flowering rhizomatous perennial valued for its abundant floral display and disease resistance. It produces a sea of large, pure white, single daisy flowers with golden yellow centers, 2 in. across (5 cm), atop a lush mat of dark green basal leaves. Blooming for up to 4 weeks from late spring to midsummer, this Daisy is extremely easy to grow. ‘Filigran’ received the highest rating from the Chicago Botanical Garden in its Evaluation Notes, on the basis of its heavy flower production, strong habit, and adaptability to various soil conditions.

  • Grows in upright clumps of stiff stems reaching up 26 in. in height (65 cm) and 24-30 in. in spread (60-75 cm). Unlike Leucanthemum × superbum, the habit of Leucanthemum vulgare is rhizomatous, thus the plant will spread in the garden by rhizomes. Will also self-seed readily and produce abundant seedlings.
  • Thrives in full sun and enjoys average, dry to medium, well-drained soils. Light shade is tolerated, specifically in hot summer areas. Good soil drainage is critical.
  • Excellent choice for perennial borders, cutting gardens, or naturalizing meadows. Perfect for small gardens! Plant in small groups for better visual impact. Makes excellent and long-lasting fresh-cut flowers.
  • Robust, low maintenance, and highly disease-free, this daisy is also drought tolerant and deer, and rabbit resistant.
  • Remove spent flowers to promote further blooms and maintain a neat appearance. In spring, remove all dead foliage and cut back to basal foliage in fall.
  • Divide clumps as needed (every 2-3 years) to maintain vigor.
