Coreopsis ‘Jive’ (Tickseed)

Tickseed 'Jive', 'Jive' Tickseed

Coreopsis 'Jive',Tickseed Jive, Drought tolerant plants, bicolor coreopsis, bicolor flowers

Highly floriferous, Coreopsis ‘Jive’ is a pretty annual Coreopsis forming a bushy clump of green, threadleaf foliage. Blooming continuously from early summer into fall, it produces masses of 1-2 in. (2-5 cm) white flowers adorned with a large, burgundy eye and an orange center. Easy to grow, relatively pest and disease free, ‘Jive’ adds a punch of color in the garden and decorative containers.

  • Grows up to 12-18 in. in height (30-45 cm) and 18-24 in. across (45-60 cm).
  • Prefers full sun but tolerates partial shade (specifically in hot summer areas) and enjoys dry to medium moisture, well-drained soils. Thrives in poor, sandy or rocky soils and is drought and deer tolerant.
  • Unfussy and relatively low maintenance, this Coreopsis is a favorite of bees and butterflies.
  • Very versatile, it is a welcomed addition to beds, borders, cottage or cutting gardens and does great in containers. Effective as an accent plant and spectacular in mass plantings.
  • Midsummer shearing (after the first flush of flowers) will keep this plant looking its best all season.
