Hardy and eye-catching, Coreopsis ‘Ladybird’ is a dwarf perennial of mounding habit with a profusion of large, brilliant red flowers from summer to fall. Blooming continuously in great quantities, the new flowers quickly cover the old ones. Perfect to create a long-lasting floral show, this workhorse perennial is ideal for mixed beds, borders, containers and small gardens.

  • Compact and well branched, this lovely herbaceous perennial grows up to 12 in. (30 cm) and spreads up to 15 in. wide (37 cm).
  • Prefers full sun but tolerates partial shade (specifically in hot summer areas) and enjoys dry to medium moisture, well-drained soils. Thrives in poor, sandy or rocky soils and is drought and deer tolerant.
  • Easy to grow, unfussy and relatively low maintenance, this Coreopsis is a favorite of bees and butterflies.
  • Welcomed addition to the front of borders, rock gardens, cottage gardens or containers.
  • Midsummer shearing (after the first flush of flowers) will keep this plant looking its best all season.
  • Coreopsis, commonly known as Tickseed, are a favorite of many gardeners thanks to the bright colors of their flowers and their ability to put up with most garden soils. There are over 100 species available and countless hybrids. Most of them are low maintenance, drought tolerant and enjoy long blooming seasons. Workhorse perennials in the sunny borders, they make excellent cut flowers.
