Common Sneezeweed 'Feuersiegel', False Sunflower 'Feuersiegel', Helen's Flower 'Feuersiegel', Yellow Star 'Feuersiegel'

AGM Award
Helenium Feuersiegel, Sneezeweed Feuersiegel, Helenium Autumnale, Common Sneezeweed Feuersiegel, False Sunflower Feuersiegel, Helen's Flower Feuersiegel, Yellow Helenium

Award-winner Helenium ‘Feuersiegel’ features cheerful daisylike flowers, 3 in. wide (8 cm), with upsweeping and upwardly curled petals surrounding a prominent chocolate brown center disk that is covered with golden pollen and attracts butterflies. The golden yellow petals are marked with an attractive broad red band. ‘Feuersiegel’ means ‘Fiery Lightning-Bolt’, a well-deserved name for this Helenium!

  • This fabulous perennial provides weeks of splashes of color, from midsummer to fall, when many other perennials are starting to fade.
  • Recipient of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society
  • Grows up to 4-5 ft. tall (120-150 cm) and spreads 2 ft. wide (60 cm)
  • Looks stunning planted in mass, and mixes beautifully with ornamental grasses or any other perennial plants. Well suited for borderscottage gardens, or naturalistic areas such as prairies or meadows.
  • Very attractive as cut flowers, it has good resistance to most insects and diseases, attracts butterflies and deer ignore it!
  • A full sun lover, it is very hardy and prefers average, medium to wet, well-drained soils. Prefers rich, moist soils and hates dry soils. Regular watering maters for profuse blossoms!
  • Deadheading will extend the flowering season. Once flowering has ceased and the plant has died back the stems should be cut down.
