Rosa Carefree Delight (Shrub Rose)

Rose Carefree Delight, Rosa Bingo, Rosa Bingo Meidiland, Rosa Bingo Meillandecor, Rosa 'MEIpotal', Rosa Potalia, Shrub Roses

Perfect for gardens of all sizes, Rosa Carefree Delight is a lush, spreading shrub rose boasting single, cupped-to-flat, pastel pink flowers, 2.5 in. across (6 cm), adorned with a white center and a bouquet of bright yellow stamens. Borne in small clusters, the blossoms entice passing butterflies to use them as perfect landing pads. Blooming all season without upkeep, they stand out against the semi-glossy dark green foliage. Floriferous, easy to grow, very hardy, low maintenance, disease resistant, this bushy and compact shrub rose brings cheerful color to the garden or landscape. Perfect for mixed borders and beds, containers or as a flowering groundcover.

  • Grows up to 2-3 ft. tall (60-90 cm) and 3-5 ft. wide (90-150 cm).
  • Best grown in full sun in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil. For best flowering apply a balanced fertilizer and mulch in late winter or early spring and a balanced fertilizer again in early summer.
  • An excellent choice for beds and borders, city gardens, cottage gardens, patio containers or as a colorful hedge.
  • Keep an eye out for aphids, rose leafhopper, scale insects, caterpillars, large rose sawfly, rose leaf-rolling sawfly, black spot, rose rust and rose powdery mildew.
  • Propagate by semi-ripe cuttings in late summer or hardwood cuttings in autumn, for home use only.
  • Bred by Jacques Mouchotte (France, before 1991).
