Salvia involucrata 'Bethellii' (Rosy-Leaf Sage)
Rosy-Leaf Sage, Rosebud Salvia, Salvia bethellii
Salvia involucrata 'Bethellii' (Rosy-Leaf Sage) is a woody-based perennial or branching shrub boasting a profusion of tubular vibrant cerise-rose flowers encased by pink bracts. Blooming from midsummer to fall, the blossoms are borne in dense terminal spikes and attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. The lush foliage of ovate, rich green leaves, underlined with reddish veins, is handsome in its own right. Drought tolerant, Rosy-Leaf Sage provides a strong presence in the late season garden, adding flamboyant rosy-magenta color to the fall tones.
