Prized for its fine-textured foliage, Sedum hispanicum var. minus ‘Purple Form’ (Spanish Stonecrop) is a lovely spreading to cushion-forming, succulent perennial. Its dense blue-green foliage changes to a deep blue as the season progresses before taking on purple hues in winter. In late summer, clouds of pink, star-shaped flowers cover the foliage. Extremely easy-to-grow, Spanish Stonecrop is the perfect sedum to use along pathways, spilling over rocks or as a small-scale groundcover. It is also wonderful in containers where the foliage and flowers can be enjoyed throughout the season.

  • Grows up to 2-4 in. tall (5-10 cm) and 10-12 in. wide (25-30 cm).
  • Performs best in full sun in gravelly, dry to well-drained soils. Drought tolerant once established.
  • Perfect for cottage gardens, rock gardens, containers, edging or as a groundcover.
  • No serious pest or disease issues. Keep an eye out for slugs, snails, vine weevil or root rot. Deer and rabbit resistant.
  • Low maintenance, this Sedum forgives neglect!
  • Propagate by division in spring or fall.
  • Sedum hispanicum var. minus is native to Spain.
