Eucomis - Pineapple Lilies

Eucomis are bulbous perennials which add an exotic touch to the summer and fall garden with their strange spikes of open-faced, starry flowers. At the tip of the spike sits a rosette of young green leaves similar to those of a pineapple, hence the common name of Pineapple Lily. Rich of nectar, the flowers last for weeks. Equally handsome is their basal rosette of strap-shaped leaves. Deer resistant, pest free and ridiculously easy to grow, Eucomis are showy additions to the landscape or containers.
