Iris Spuria - Blue Irises

Liatris are herbaceous perennials of great ornamental value with their spectacular flower spikes packed with button-shaped, purple, rosy red or white flowers resembling blazing stars. Flowering in succession from top to bottom over a long season in summer and fall, they attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. The foliage of narrow, grass-like leaves stays attractive all summer and turns a rich bronze in fall. Easy to grow and low care, these showy bloomers add strong vertical accents in perennial gardens, meadows, native plant gardens or naturalized areas.
