Plant Families / Petunia
Mainstays in borders, containers, window-boxes or hanging baskets, Petunia are annuals or tender perennials noted for their profuse, trumpet-shaped flowers and incredible range of colors. Blooming continuously from late spring to fall, there are 4 main types of petunias: Grandiflora (large flowers on a bouquet-shaped plant), Multiflora (medium-sized flowers on a compact mounding plant), Milliflora (small flowers on a small mounding plant) and spreading. Thriving in full sun or light shade in rich, well-drained soil, they are fast-growing, heat tolerant and attract hummingbirds. Whatever the requirement, there is a petunia to fill the need!
