Potentilla - Cinquefoils

Potentilla (Cinquefoil) can be herbaceous perennials, deciduous shrubs, or annuals boasting masses of saucer-shaped, 5-petalled flowers over a long blooming season. The blossoms, in shade of pink, red, yellow or white, contrast nicely against the foliage of palmately or pinnately divided, green leaves. Perennial Cinquefoils include clump-forming plants that are great for rock gardens or perennial borders, as well as creeping varieties which are useful as groundcovers. Shrubby Cinquefoils are incredibly tough plants, withstanding drought and heat in the summer as well as cold temperatures in winter. One of the easiest plants to care for, they are first-class shrubs offering great versatility in the landscape.
