Tagetes - Marigold
Blooming their heart out in summer and fall, Tagetes (Marigolds) is a genus of annuals or perennials with showy single or double flowers in shades of orange, yellow, red, gold, white, and any combination of those colors. The strongly aromatic divided foliage repels pests such as deer or rabbits, making Marigolds great companion plants to other plants. Several species of Marigolds are used as ornamental plants and are very popular all around the world: French Marigold (Tagetes patula), African Marigold (Tagetes erecta), and Signet Marigold (Tagetes tenuifolia). Marigolds need full sun all day to provide blooms all season long. They are excellent additions to beds, borders, patio containers, or as edging plants. Great companion planting for vegetable or herb gardens.
