A Cozy Patio
In a small yard, every inch counts. In this relatively tiny backyard, Debora Carl broke the space up into 3 "rooms" to give an extra dimension to the yard. Making a big impact is the colorful, cozy, and fun stucco seating bench around the copper fire bowl. Great for outdoor entertaining or when the weather starts to cool off, fire pits are really wonderful additions to the garden. We note the raised bed behind the bench, which provides room for additional planting.
A relaxation area welcoming 2 lounge chairs and a small dining area have also been added, separated from each other by a blue-gray pea gravel path, mixed with pavers and bordered by green succulent rosettes. The pattern of this path appears to elongate the dimensions of the yard.
Similarly, the horizontally slatted fence, with its parallel lines, creates the illusion that the space is bigger than it looks. Two precious design elements, which contribute to the success of this patio.
While every effort has been made to describe these plants accurately, please keep in mind that height, bloom time, and color may differ in various climates. The description of these plants has been written based on numerous outside resources.
