My Beautiful Zen Garden

Rock Gardens, Gravel Gardens, Mediterranean Gardens

This warm and eye-catching gravel garden is a veritable showstopper with its incredible mix and contrast of texture and color. Inspired by the celestial orbit of planets around a sun or concentric rings around a planet, carefully selected plants are placed in beautifully raked gravel to create this out of world effect!

The rich pink Cordyline 'Pink Passion' (Cabbage Tree), plum-colored Phormium 'Platt's Black' (New Zealand Flax), glowing Carex testacea 'Prairie Fire' (New Zealand Hair Sedge) and Hakonechloa macra 'Aureola' (Hakone Grass), are combined with the architectural Agave americana (Century Plant) and tough but cute Sempervivums (Houseleek).

A simple but dramatic combination of deer resistant and low-care plants which never fail to make a strong statement, whether in pots, on the patio, in a courtyard, or rising from the border.

Most plants are rabbit resistant, drought and dry soil tolerant. Enjoy!
