Amaryllis ‘Cherry Nymph’ (Hippeastrum)

Hippeastrum 'Cherry Nymph', Cherry Nymph Amaryllis, Amaryllis 'Chernym', Double Galaxy Group

Amaryllis Cherry Nymph, Cherry Nymph Amaryllis, Amarylis Bulbs, Hippeastrum Magnum, Hippeastrum Bulbs, Red Flowers, Red Amaryllis

With extra-large flowers, Amaryllis ‘Cherry Nymph’ will surely draw the attention of all with its velvety, cherry red, double flowers, up to 8 in. across (20 cm). Borne in clusters of four, they sit with majesty atop a stout leafless stalk. Long-lasting, they will succeed in bringing their glamour and help take the gray chill out of the dead of winter!

  • Elegantly rising to 20-24 in. (50-60 cm), each bulb blooms 6-10 weeks after planting. The bigger the bulb, the more chance it will produce more flower stems with several flowers to a stem.
  • Incredibly easy to plant and nearly foolproof to grow, it provides weeks and even months of bloom indoors as potted plants or cut flowers. What more could you want?
  • Since the flowers do not bloom simultaneously, the overall flowering period lasts a reasonably long time.
  • Hardy to USDA zones 8-11, Amaryllis bulbs may be planted outdoors (deep South only). They will bloom in late spring – early summer and may be used in rock gardens or garden beds amongst groundcovers or perennials.
  • The nice thing about forcing Amaryllis bulbs into flower in the home is that it is so simple. Moreover, once the bulbs have flowered, they can be stored and brought into bloom again.
  • Ingestion may cause stomach upset.
  • Toxic to dogs, toxic to cats, toxic to horses.
