Graptopetalum ‘Superbum’ (Beautiful Graptopetalum) is a small evergreen succulent forming compact, open rosettes, 5 in. wide (12 cm), of fleshy, pointed, gray to lavender-pink leaves. The small rosettes grow at the tips of ever-lengthening stems, that become pendant over time and cascade beautifully. In spring, it produces dainty sprays of star-shaped pale yellow flowers with red markings on their tips. Vigorous and prolific, Beautiful Graptopetalum will eventually create a low spreading colony. A very attractive plant for groundcovers, in hanging baskets, containers or for spilling over walls.

  • Grows up to 5 in. tall (12 cm) and 2-3 ft. wide (60-90 cm).
  • Easily grown in sandy, dry to medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun or light shade. Best color is obtained in full sun. Thrives in heat and tolerates drought when established. Little irrigation required.
  • Excellent for rock gardens, succulent gardens or Mediterranean gardens. Perfect for containers where spectacular floral arrangements can be created.
  • Deer resistant
  • Virtually disease free. Watch for mealybugs, vine weevil and aphids
  • Propagate by stem or leaf cuttings in spring or early summer. Separate offsets in spring
