Adding color and drama, Hibiscus ‘Mahogany Splendor’ (Red-Leaf Hibiscus) is a compact, tropical herbaceous perennial primarily grown for its gorgeous, mahogany-red, deeply cut foliage. As decorative as the leaves of Japanese maples, the evergreen leaves face outwards on long stalks and retain their rich, chocolate-red color through even the hottest days. Tolerant of drought and heat, ‘Mahogany Splendor’ is ideally suited to the landscape and looks terrific in containers.

  • Typically grows up to 3-5 ft. tall (90-150 cm) and 24-30 in. wide (60-75 cm).
  • Full sun to part shade lover, this plant is best grown in well-drained soils. Apply a balanced fertilizer each spring and summer
  • Relatively pest and disease free. Deer resistant.
  • Plant in mixed borders or large containers.
