Siskiyou Lewisia, Cliff Maids


Strikingly beautiful, Lewisia cotyledon (Siskiyou Lewisia) is an evergreen perennial forming a substantial rosette of fleshy, spoon-shaped dark green leaves. In late spring and summer, occasionally later, it is topped with lovely, open sprays of brightly colored, funnel-shaped flowers, up to 1 in. across (2.5 cm). Opening in succession, the flowers range from pale pink to deep magenta to vibrant yellow, salmon or orange, with each petal often shading between multiple colors. Very easy to grow, Lewisia is suitable for the rock garden, or in the crevices of a retaining wall.

  • Thrives in full sun to light shade in moderately fertile, neutral to acid, well-drained soil. Drought tolerant once established. Protect from winter wet
