Incredibly eye-catching, Lewisia tweedyi ‘Rosea’ (Tweedy Lewisia) is an evergreen perennial forming a large rosette of fleshy, obovate green leaves, often suffused with purple. In mid to late spring, it is topped with pretty sprays of deep rose, funnel-shaped flowers, adorned with pale yellow stripes along each glistening petal. Very easy to grow, Lewisia tweedyi ‘Rosea’ is suitable for the rock garden, or in the crevices of a retaining wall.

  • Grows up to 3-8 in. tall and wide (7-20 cm)
  • Thrives in full sun to light shade in moderately fertile, neutral to acid, well-drained soil. Drought tolerant once established. Protect from winter wet
  • Perfect choice for rock gardens or containers.
  • Watch for aphids, slugs, snails and rot.
  • Propagate by seed sown in pots in a cold frame in autumn. Propagate by removing offsets in early summer.
  • Native to British Columbia and Washington State.
