Creeping Nailwort, Silver Nailwort
Very compact, Paronychia kapela ssp. serpyllifolia (Creeping Nailwort) is a low-growing, evergreen perennial forming a tidy carpet of tiny, silver-gray leaves turning peachy orange in fall and winter. In summer, small flowers surrounded by papery silvery bracts appear above the foliage and remain attractive for many weeks. A tough little plant that is perfect for a sunny border, in the rock garden, as a small-scale groundcover, or between flagstones. Tolerates light foot traffic.
