A Pretty Summer Border with Roses, Larkspurs and Sage

Plant Combinations, Flowerbeds Ideas, Summer Borders

Plant Combinations, Flowerbeds Ideas, Spring Borders, Summer Borders, English Roses, Rose Gertrude Jekyll, Blue Delphinium, Delphinium Black Night, Delphinium Faust, Salvia Amethyst, Salvia nemorosa

This gorgeous summer border has been realized with 3 stunning plants: tall, deep blue Delphinium Black Knight adds structure and height to this mixed planting with English Rose ‘Gertrude Jekyll’. Producing clusters of the most beautiful, large, fully double, rich glowing pink flowers, this David Austin rose has a strong, beautifully rounded perfume considered by many to be the quintessential Old Rose fragrance.

Both blossoms mingle with the unique, rich lavender-pink flowers of Salvia nemorosa ‘Amethyst’. Providing a spectacular display from early to mid-summer, the blossoms are attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds.

Most plants are recipients of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society. Enjoy!
