Noted for its spectacular spring foliage, award-winning Aesculus x neglecta 'Erythroblastos' (Painted Buckeye) is a small deciduous tree of rounded habit with a dense canopy of leaves adorned with 5 leaflets. Emerging warm creamy-pink, sometimes with a tinge of orange, in spring, the leaves turn creamy-green, and eventually dark green as the season progresses. In the fall, they change to brilliant shades of orange and yellow before shedding to the ground. In late spring, pale yellow flowers are borne in erect panicles. They are rarely followed by fruits. A beautiful landscape tree.

  • Grows up to 40-50 ft. tall and wide (12-15 m).
  • Thrives in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun or part shade. Prefers moist, fertile soils.

  • Propagate by grafting
  • All parts are mildly poisonous by ingestion.
