Dwarf Morning Glory 'Blue Ensign', Convolvulus minor 'Blue Ensign'
Native to the Mediterranean region, award-winning Convolvulus tricolor ‘Blue Ensign’ (Dwarf Morning Glory) is a particularly attractive annual or short-lived perennial (USDA zones 9-11). It bears profuse flared trumpets, 2 in. across (5 cm), with a golden-yellow center ringed in white and surrounded by royal blue petals. Blooming in succession for weeks from early summer into fall, the flowers remain open one day, and hummingbirds and butterflies will attentively visit them. Convolvulus tricolor is a low-growing bushy plant that rises on branching stems clad with narrow, lance-shaped, mid-green leaves.
