Coreopsis ‘Shades of Rose’ (Tickseed)

Tickseed 'Shades of Rose', Threadleaf Coreopsis 'Shades of Rose', PERMATHREAD™ Series

Coreopsis 'Shades of Rose', Tickseed Shades of Rose, Drought tolerant plants, Pink flowers

Coreopsis ‘Shades of Rose’ (Tickseed) is a charming perennial forming a tight clump of deep green, threadleaf foliage. From early summer through late summer, masses of blush-pink flowers, adorned with golden centers and deeper pink at the petal tips, cover the foliage mound. If cut back, the plant can be encouraged to rebloom until frost. Easy to grow, this Threadleaf Coreopsis is perfect for sunny perennial borders, mass plantings or patio containers. As an added bonus, one plant will provide you with long-lasting cut flower bouquets all summer long.

  • Grows up to 16-18 in. tall and wide (40-45 cm).
  • Prefers full sun but tolerates partial shade (specifically in hot summer areas) and enjoys dry to medium moisture, well-drained soils. Thrives in poor, sandy or rocky soils and is drought and deer tolerant.
  • Easy to grow, unfussy and relatively low maintenance, this Coreopsis is a favorite of bees and butterflies.
  • Welcomed addition to the front of borders, cottage gardens or containers.
  • Midsummer shearing (after the first flush of flowers) will keep this plant looking its best all season.
  • Coreopsis, commonly known as Tickseed, are a favorite of many gardeners thanks to the bright colors of their flowers and their ability to put up with most garden soils. There are over 100 species available and countless hybrids. Most of them are low maintenance, drought tolerant and enjoy long blooming seasons. Workhorse perennials in the sunny borders, they make excellent cut flowers.
