Thunbergia gregorii (Orange Clock Vine) is a vigorous twining evergreen vine, often grown as an annual, with lush triangular, tooth-edged, gray-green leaves and attractive salver-shaped, rich orange flowers, 1.5 in. across (4 cm). Borne in the leaf axils, they bloom nearly all year long in mild winter climates, in summer in cool winter areas. Prized for its fast climbing habit, Orange Clock Vine is perfect to hide an unforgiving fence, scramble through arbors and trellises, cascade down a wall and looks stunning in hanging baskets. Showy and easy to grow, it can become an extensive groundcover if left without support.

  • Recipient of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society.
  • Will grow up to 8-10 ft. tall (240-300 cm).
  • Thrives in medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun.
  • Thunbergia gregorii requires a support on which to climb such as arbors, trellises or fences. Great in containers, or hanging baskets. Perfect in coastal gardens, cottage gardens or Mediterranean gardens.
  • No serious pest or disease issues. Keep an eye out for scale, spider mites and whiteflies on indoor plants. Deer resistant.
  • Propagate by seed or softwood cuttings.
  • Native to East Africa.
