This soft informal border is composed of low-growing perennials which will introduce romance in your landscape from early summer until fall. Low maintenance and fairly easy to replicate, this naturalistic planting combines fresh-looking pink Echinacea purpurea (Purple Coneflower) with fluffy Lychnis flos-cuculi ‘Petite Jenny’ (Ragged Robin) and captivating Monarda (Bee Balm). Breaking up the clumps formed by these colorful perennials, the delicate seedheads of Feather Grass (Stipa tenuissima) add movement to this perennial planting as they sway in the breeze.

Perfect for small gardens or container planting, this pleasing combination will feed many butterflies but will be ignored by hungry deer. If you are not limited in space, you may want to select taller varieties of Echinacea, Monarda and Asters. Enjoy!
