Globularia salicina (Canary Globe Flower) is an evergreen shrub with dark green, oval, leathery leaves and charming fluffy lavender flowers over a long season. Blooming in winter through spring, the globular blossoms attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Native to the Canary Islands and Madeira, Canary Globe Flower is an excellent shrub for rock gardens, containers or coastal gardens.

  • Grows up to 2 ft tall (60 cm) and 3 ft. wide (90 cm).
  • Performs best in well-drained soils in full sun. Tolerates poor, stony, dry soils but prefers well-drained soils that contain organic matter. Drought tolerant once established.
  • Good for beds and borders, coastal gardens, rock gardens, containers.
  • No serious pest or disease issues.
  • Prune lightly after flowering to maintain a compact appearance.
  • Propagate from seeds sown in spring in a seedbed with sandy substrate. 
  • Native to the Canary Islands and Madeira.
