Graptoveria 'Fred Ives'

'Fred Ives' Graptoveria, Echeveria 'Fred Ives'

Graptoveria 'Fred Ives' is an incredibly pretty evergreen succulent forming spreading clumps of large rosettes (12 in. wide or 30cm) of fleshy, pointed bronze leaves adorned with shades of pink. Depending on seasons, temperature, and sun exposure, the rosettes may blend shades of blue, teal, salmon, coral, or yellow. Borne on a short stout stem, this plant produces 1-2 ft. long (30-60 cm), arching inflorescences with pale yellow flowers and red-orange centers in summer. Vigorous and forgiving, 'Fred Ives' is the result of a cross between Graptopetalum paraguayense and Echeveria gibbiflora. It offsets readily and will eventually create a nice flower carpet. It is highly valued for its amazing color and beauty.

  • Grows up to 18-24 in. tall and wide (45-60 cm).
  • Easily grown in sandy, dry to medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun or light shade. The best color is obtained in full sun. Thrives in heat and tolerates drought when established. Little irrigation is required.
  • Excellent for rock gardens, succulent gardens, or Mediterranean gardens. Perfect for containers where spectacular floral arrangements can be created.
  • Deer resistant
  • Virtually disease free. Watch for mealybugs, vine weevil, and aphids
  • Propagate by stem or leaf cuttings in spring or early summer. Separate offsets in spring
  • Native to Mexico
