Plantain Lily 'Enterprise', 'Enterprise' Hosta
A particularly showy addition to the shade garden, Hosta 'Enterprise' (Plantain Lily) is a medium-sized hosta variety with stunning variegated foliage. It forms a luminous mound of widely oval to heart-shaped, green-margined ivory leaves with attractive transitional chartreuse streaks. Dainty, funnel-shaped lavender flowers appear in mid-summer, rising on scapes 30 in. tall (75 cm). 'Enterprise' enjoys a good slug resistance and makes a cheerful subject for plantings in the garden or mixed containers.
- Easy grower, Hosta 'Enterprise' grows up to 20 in. tall (50 cm) and 40-44 in. wide (100-110 cm).
- Performs best in part shade to full shade in fertile, moist, well-drained soils. Shelter from cold, dry winds.
- Perfect for the shade garden, mixed with other perennials in bed and borders, city gardens, and cottage gardens. Great as a groundcover or underplanting shrubs and roses.
- Watch for slugs and snails which could damage the attractive foliage.
- Cut off the stems after blooming to encourage the plant's growth. Discolored leaves should be trimmed back to the ground.
