Noted for its long-blooming season, Kalimeris incisa ‘Blue Star’ (Japanese Aster) is a compact, clump-forming perennial boasting a profusion of daisy-like, pale blue flowers, 1 in. across (2.5 cm), with a golden center. Blooming from early summer to early fall, the starry flowers are so abundant that they literally blanket the plant and cover the foliage mound of oblong, dark green leaves. Ideal to add a splash of color in the summer garden, this eye-catching beauty is terrific towards the front of a sunny border. Drought tolerant once established, it performs well in hot and humid summers.
