Petasites frigidus var. palmatus ‘Golden Palms’ (Golden Coltsfoot) is a low-growing perennial with rounded clusters of creamy white flowers in spring. Blooming just before the large, palmately divided, golden leaves unfurl, the blossoms are a charming harbinger of spring. Golden Palms spreads by fast-growing underground rhizomes to form a shimmering groundcover. Thriving in moist or damp areas, this is a nice addition for pond, bog, or shade garden where it spreads readily.

  • Grows up to 24 in. tall and wide (60 cm).
  • Best grown in full sun to part shade in moist to wet soils. Requires shade in southern climates and needs sun elsewhere for best color. This plant is tolerant of a variety of garden soils as long as adequate moisture is available
  • No serious pest or disease issues. Deer resistant.
