Phlox paniculata ‘Cleopatra’ (Garden Phlox)

Enjoying a long blooming season, Phlox paniculata ‘Cleopatra’ is a clump-forming herbaceous perennial with large, pyramidal clusters densely packed with rich, cherry-pink flowers. The star-shaped florets feature an extra layer of petals which gives them a lush, semi-double appearance. Blooming for weeks from mid-summer to early fall, the sweetly fragrant flowers are rich in nectar and visited by hummingbirds and butterflies. They are borne atop stiff, upright stems, clad with narrow lance-shaped leaves, and make excellent fresh-cut flowers. This compact phlox cultivar is perfectly suited for containers, courtyard gardens, and the middle of the border. Great for small gardens!

• Grows up to 20-24 in. tall (50-60 cm) and 18-24 in. wide (45-60 cm)
• Prefers full sun to very light shade and enjoys moderately fertile, medium moisture, well-drained soils. This plant needs good air circulation! Avoid overhead watering and add summer mulch to keep the root area cool.
• Excellent choice for the perennial borders where dazzling flowers are welcomed in any color scheme. May be planted as a single specimen or in groupings.
• Deadhead to preserve a neat appearance and promote new blooms. Cut back stems after flowering is over.
• Propagate by division in spring or autumn
