Noted for its long blooming season, Phlox paniculata Super Ka-Pow™ Lavender (Garden Phlox) is a compact herbaceous perennial boasting showy clusters of vibrant lavender flowers. Blooming from late spring through summer, the sweetly fragrant flowers are rich in nectar and visited by hummingbirds and butterflies. They are borne atop a bushy clump of medium green foliage. This garden phlox was bred to provide super-sized blooms, super-sized habit, better branching, improved winter hardiness, and powdery mildew resistance. • Grows up to 18-20 in. tall (45-50 cm) and 16-18 in. wide (40-45 cm).
• Prefers full sun to very light shade and enjoys moderately fertile, medium moisture, well-drained soils. This plant needs good air circulation! Avoid overhead watering and add summer mulch to keep the root area cool.
• Excellent choice for the perennial borders where dazzling flowers are welcomed in any color scheme. May be planted as a single specimen or in groupings.
• Deadhead to preserve a neat appearance and promote new blooms. Cut back stems after flowering is over.
