Potentilla x hopwoodiana (Pink Cinquefoil)

Pink Cinquefoil

Potentilla x hopwoodiana, Pink Cinquefoil, Pink Potentilla, Pink Flowers

Potentilla x hopwoodiana (Pink Cinquefoil) is a clump-forming perennial boasting pale salmon-pink and cream, saucer-shaped flowers with dark raspberry-red eyes from early to late summer. Produced in abundance, the blossoms contrast nicely against the foliage mound of strawberry-like, medium green leaves. Noted for its extremely long blooming season, this Cinquefoil is one of the easiest plants to care for. It is perfect for adding color to a sunny border.

  • Grows up to 16-20 in. tall and wide (40-50 cm).
  • Performs best in full sun, in poor to moderately fertile, well-drained soils.
  • Virtually pest and disease free, it is also deer resistant.
  • Cinquefoil is very adaptable and an excellent choice for border fronts, cottage gardens, or rock gardens.
  • Trim off faded flower stems to promote more blooms.
  • Plants may be sheared back after flowering, to rejuvenate the foliage.
  • Propagate by division in autumn or spring.
