Potentilla atrosanguinea var. argyrophylla ‘Scarlet Starlit’ (Himalayan Cinquefoil) is a compact, clump-forming perennial boasting showy clusters of saucer-shaped, scarlet flowers from early to late summer. The blossoms are borne on erect, wiry, branching stems. They contrast nicely against the foliage mound of three-lobed leaves covered in silky hairs. Noted for its long blooming season, this Cinquefoil is one of the easiest plants to care for. It is perfect for adding color to a sunny border.

  • Grows up to 12-24 in. tall and wide (30-60 cm).
  • Performs best in full sun or light shade in moderately fertile, moist, well-drained soils.
  • Virtually pest and disease free, it is also deer resistant.
  • Cinquefoil is very adaptable and an excellent choice for beds and borders, cottage gardens, or coastal gardens.
  • After flowering, remove the flower stems at ground level.
  • Can be propagated by division in spring.
