Profuse clusters of small light blue flowers appear from summer through to fall. The leaves are good for cooking and can be used fresh or dried to flavor dishes.

  • Grows up to 6 ft tall (180 cm) and 2-4 ft wide (60-120 cm).
  • Easily grown in moderately fertile, well-drained soils in full sun but will tolerate some shade. Drought tolerant once established.
  • Great for beds and borders, Mediterranean gardens, cottage gardens, city gardens, patio containers, or as a formal or informal hedge.
  • No serious pest or disease issues.
  • Attractive to bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, however, deer dislike rosemary's strong scent.
  • Propagate by division in spring and by semi-ripe cuttings in summer.
  • Cut back flower spikes to prolong flowering
  • Rosmarinus officinalis is native to the Mediterranean region, from where it has been introduced into all continents.
