Noted for its long blooming season, Tetraneuris acaulis (Angelita Daisy) is a compact, tufted, evergreen perennial forming a basal rosette of small, spatulate to linear, glabrous leaves, 2 in. long (5 cm), covered with long hairs. Blooming throughout the year, with peaks during winter and spring, bright yellow daisy flowers to 1 in. (2.5 cm), adorned with notches edges, are carried singly on 12 in. reddish-green stems. A plant may produce up to 30 stems. Tough, heat, cold, and drought tolerant, Angelita Daisy is ideal for sunny rock gardens, borders, and containers and is a perfect species for xeric gardens.

  • Grows up to 10-12 in. tall (25-30 cm) and 18 in. wide (45 cm).
  • Thrives in full sun in well-drained soils. Good soil drainage is critical. Irrigate regularly, but allow to dry in between water applications.
  • Excellent choice for beds and borders, rock gardens, or containers.
  • Robust, low maintenance, pest and disease free. Susceptible to root rot in poorly drained soils.
  • Propagate by seed. This plant has a relatively significant taproot and will not transplant.
  • Native to plains from Canada to Texas.
