Wall-Side Borders

Borders at the base of walls of fences can be challenging. They may be quite narrow, their soil shallow and drier than in a more open bed. Choosing plants that best suit the site will offer great results. Sun-loving irises, lavender and nerines are good choices for a sunny border, while heuchera, heucherella and tiarella are best suited to the shade border. Evergreen bergenia with their remarkable, shiny leaves and epimedium with their lop-sided leaves will add charm all year-round.
