A Charming Border Idea with Allium, Nepeta & Grasses

Perennial Combinations, Plant Combinations, Summer Borders

Create stunning, easy care and long-lasting border combinations like this one. Inspired from prairie planting, this modern and natural planting combines the rich, cool purple flower spikes of Catmint 'Six Hills Giant' (Nepeta x faassenii) with the billowing blooms of Mexican Feather Grass (Stipa tenuissima), providing an attractive contrast and airiness to this border. Interplanted are the architectural seed heads of ornamental Alliums. Resembling starry fireworks, they provide interest in the garden and can be used in everlasting bouquets.

All plants are deer, rabbit and drought tolerant. Undemanding and easy to grow, they require little maintenance and enjoy a very long season of interest.
