Aloe ‘Crosby’s Prolific’

A prolific miniature Aloe, Aloe ‘Crosby’s Prolific’ is an evergreen succulent with attractive, stemless rosettes of lance-shaped, deep green leaves lined with long, translucent teeth along their edges. Its fleshy leaves take on red hues when exposed to bright light. Spikes of bright orange, tubular flowers are borne in profusion atop flowering stalks, 18 in. tall (45 cm), brightening up the garden. This Aloe offsets readily to form a large clump. It is easily propagated from cuttings. This hybrid Aloe results from a cross between Aloe nobilis and Aloe humilis var. echinatum.

  • Grows up to 6-12 in. tall (15-30 cm) and 9-15 in. wide (22-37 cm).
  • Easily grown in well-drained soils in full sun or light shade. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to touch. Protect this plant from frost to prevent scarring. Drought tolerant.
  • Great for beds and borders, rock gardens, succulent gardens or Mediterranean gardens.
  • Deer resistant. The flowers produce nectar and are attractive to birds and bees
  • Virtually disease free. Watch for scale insects and mealybugs.
