Cedrus deodara 'Golden Horizon' (Deodar Cedar) is an evergreen coniferous tree of semi-prostrate habit, adorned with gracefully weeping branches. Its spring foliage of long, soft, golden needles turns yellow-green in summer. A fast grower, over 12 in. per year (30 cm), this Golden Himalayan Cedar forms a lovely spreading shrub. However, it usually produces a number of strong shoots, and if not removed, the plant will develop into a tall semi-pendulous golden cedar. An eye-catching specimen tree for the landscape.
- Grows up to 5-10 ft. tall (150-300 cm) and 6-10 ft. wide (180-300 cm).
- Performs best in full sun in medium moisture, well-drained soils. Tolerant of hot and humid summers. Drought tolerant once established.
