Euphorbia amygdaloides Ruby Glow’ (Wood Spurge) is a compact, nicely branched, evergreen perennial with rosettes of leathery, ruby red leaves when young, which mature to purple-black. They contrast with bright cherry red stems from which arise sprays of showy, yellow inflorescences borne on chartreuse floral bracts in late spring or early summer. The eye-catching appearance of this spurge makes it a great ornamental plant in gardens and containers.

  • Typically grows up to 18-24 in. tall (45-60 cm) and 9-18 in. wide (22-45 cm)
  • Remaining attractive during all its growing season, this remarkable plant is resilient to most pests and diseases, is drought, deer and rabbit tolerant and is easy to care for.
  • A full sun to part shade lover, this plant thrives in a wide range of conditions and accepts dry or moist soils
  • Perfect addition to beds and borders, cottage gardens or containers
  • Propagate by division in spring
  • All parts of the plant are highly toxic if ingested. The milky sap may cause irritation to skin and eyes.
