Highly popular, Leucanthemum x superbum ‘Snowcap’ (Shasta Daisy) is a herbaceous perennial valued for its abundant floral display and compact size. It produces a sea of large, pure white daisy flowers with golden yellow centers, 2-3 in. across (5-7 cm), atop a lush mound of medium to dark green foliage. Blooming for many weeks from early to late summer, if deadheaded, this Shasta Daisy is extremely easy to grow. This exceptional dwarf Shasta Daisy is resistant to heat, drought and humidity. It was introduced by Alan Bloom of Blooms of Bressingham in the 1980s.

  • Grows in upright clumps of stiff stems reaching up 12-15 in. in height (30-37 cm) and 12 in. in spread (30 cm). Makes excellent and long-lasting fresh cut flowers.
  • Thrives in full sun and enjoys averagedry to mediumwell-drained soils. Light shade is tolerated, specifically in hot summer areas. Good soil drainage is critical.
  • Excellent choice for perennial borderscutting gardens or for naturalizing meadows. Perfect for small gardens! Plant them in small groups for better visual impact.
  • Robustlow maintenance and highly disease-free, this Shasta Daisy is also drought tolerant and deer, rabbit resistant.
  • Remove spent flowers to promote further blooms and maintain a neat appearance. In spring, remove all dead foliage and cut back to basal foliage in fall.
  • Divide clumps as needed (every 2-3 years) to maintain vigor.
