Primula auricula ‘Golden Hind’ is an evergreen perennial forming a rosette of pale green leaves, topped with sturdy stems bearing sweetly fragrant, fully double, soft golden-yellow flowers with rose shading at the petal bases. Blooming profusely from mid to late spring, the gorgeous blooms look stunning at the front of borders or in containers.

  • Grows up to 4-6 in. tall (10-15 cm).
  • A full sun or part shade lover, it is best grown in humus-rich, moderately fertile, consistently moist, well-drained soils.
  • This plant is very versatile and can be used in beds and borders, cottage gardens, city gardens, or in containers. Perfect for underplanting shrubs and roses.
  • A low-maintenance plant (cut back after flowering). Watch out for pests such as aphids, vine weevils, slugs, leaf and bud eelworms, leaf-mining flies, and glasshouse red spider mites. May be subject to leaf spot, primula brown core, and gray molds.
  • Propagate by division in the fall or after flowering.
